«I was beyond excited to put together a mix that is focused on house music and its incredibly rich history. Some of my earliest memories of house music are from playing GTA: San Andreas and listening to the SF-UR station, which put me on to artists like Marshall Jefferson, A Guy Called Gerald, and 808 State, so it was very important to me to include some of my all-time favorite tracks from that era. The mix also includes tons of new finds and favorites as well, from the New York-based artists that inspire me in the clubs every weekend to artists from all over the world. I hope you have as much fun listening as I did putting it together <3»

«There is so much going on in the world right now. I am finding it difficult to focus on self promotion. I initially wanted to create something truly hard and cuntie for this project. However, after evaluating my feelings in this current state of the world, how I relate in this industry, as an artist; as far as my sound, and staying true to that. I leaned into what made me feel my best in this very moment and to be my complete “FRESCA” – self. This slang term I get from my family. I incorporate it to a particular feeling and dance where one hand is behind my head and one hand is on my hip. This is what I love to do when I am completely at ease, feeling joy in the moment, and completely my utmost self while experiencing this thing we love and respect called HOUSE MUSIC; because as we all know, it is a feeling, right? — …Ya hear me girl! 

I can only speak for myself when I say, I am feeling a greater shift at this time in our lives. I am confident that I am not alone in that. If this mix makes anyone have the experience where they lose themselves in time or surrender to their total, inhibited self for just one moment, then I have done my job. I can only try to continue to spread happiness, and find commonality with others through our shared interests; in order to relate and support one another. I am originally from the Bronx, NY. This mix is my complete Nuyorican soul and self, some of my upbringing, but truly my heartbeat, what makes me tick; past, present and future. This is what I love to play, by the architects and the builders in training. I am grateful to contribute to this platform, as Madrid is my other city that I hold so near and dear to my heart. #038 Meet Me On The Dancefloor

«Dancing, voguing and queer culture is what mostly drove me to discover my love for house music. This mix is a combination of new finds from record stores around Brooklyn, Bandcamp finds, and some of my own edits and beats that I’ve been proud of creating lately. Thick kicks and singing from the heart is what really drives me to love this genre and when I get to freely create my own journey from a place of calm and grace to a place of intensity, excitement, and pure joy, it’s those moments I enjoy experiencing when I’m in front of a crowd. Based off my experiences, it doesn’t matter where I am in the world, house music is really that common sound that unites us as a species. This mix is how I’ve been lately and yet another example of my venture into electronic music – showing my support and appreciation to talented artists and those who have paved the way for this genre to live forever.»

«El baile, el voguing y la cultura queer es lo que más me llevó a descubrir mi amor por la música house. Esta mezcla es una combinación de nuevos hallazgos de tiendas de discos alrededor de Brooklyn, hallazgos en Bandcamp y algunas de mis propias ediciones y ritmos que he estado trabajando últimamente. Los bombos contundentes y cantar desde el corazón son lo que realmente me lleva a amar este género y cuando llego a crear libremente mi propio viaje de sonido desde un lugar de calma y gracia a un lugar de intensidad y emoción, son esos momentos que me gusta experimentar en la pista de baile. #035 A Nod To The 90s

«La música house tiene muchas formas y subgéneros diferentes. Cuando empecé a pinchar en los 90, había mucho Hard House, Handbag House, Progressive, Euro House y Euro trance en todos los clubes, muy influenciados por el Reino Unido y Europa (sobre todo por los holandeses), pero a mí me gustaba más el soul y los temas vocales, Pero Hard / Handbag House & Euro y Progressive House / Trance están teniendo un renacimiento en este momento y estoy disfrutando de este renacimiento, es muy nostálgico para mí y lo disfruto mucho más la segunda vez. Así que esta mezcla es un guiño a los sonidos de principios de los 90 y en gran medida el material que estoy jugando y amando en este momento. La mezcla se compone principalmente de temas originales de los 90, con un par de temas más recientes que son versiones o están influenciados por esos sonidos de los 90. La mezcla incluye temas de algunos de los sellos más sinónimos de esos géneros de la época, como Hooj choons, Armada, Blue Records, Limbo, Reflective Ltd, Fresh Fruit y Stress Records, así que es un verdadero homenaje y un reflejo de dónde está mi sonido ahora mismo.»

«House music comes in so many different forms and sub-genres. When I first started clubbing in the 90’s there was a lot of Hard House, Handbag House, Progressive, Euro House and Euro trance in all the clubs, which was very UK / Europe (particularly Dutch) influenced, but I was more into the more soulful and vocal stuff back then, which was more NYC and Chicago sounds and that’s what I was playing when I first started DJing – but Hard / Handbag House & Euro and Progressive House / Trance are having a renaissance right now and I’m revelling in this revival, it’s very nostalgic for me and enjoying it much more the second time around. So this mix is a nod to those early 90s sounds and very much the stuff I’m playing and loving at the moment. The mix is mostly made up from original 90’s tracks, with a couple more recent tracks that are either re-makes or influenced by those 90s sounds. The mix includes tracks from some of the most synonymous labels of those genres from that time, including Hooj choons, Armada, Blue Records, Limbo, Reflective Ltd, Fresh Fruit and Stress Records, so it’s a real homage and a reflection of where my sound is at right now.»

«En su seminario «Síntesis Analógica para Brujas», la música y artista Gavilán Rayna Russom describió nuestras vidas como energía condensada que surge temporalmente de las aguas profundas de nuestros ancestros. Siempre que nos visitamos le pido que me vuelva a explicar el concepto y de dónde viene, pero luego siempre se me olvidan los detalles. Pero siempre pienso en cómo la música House me refleja tan elocuentemente las paredes interiores de nuestras burbujas. Encierra los tiempos difíciles y los opulentos en una especie de tradición popular. Allá donde va, parece que siempre le siguen cosas buenas. Hice esta mezcla con dos CDJ y un mezclador, y contiene algunos de los temas que más me gustan y que abarcan toda la línea temporal y las dimensiones del House.»

«In her seminar «Analog Synthesis for Witches», the musician & artist Gavilán Rayna Russom described our lives as condensate energy temporarily bubbling up from the deep waters of our ancestors. Whenever we visit I always ask her to re-explain the concept and where it comes from, but then I always forget the deets. But I always think about how House music reflects back to me the inner walls of our bubbles so eloquently. It encapsulates the hard times and the opulent ones in a folk tradition type of way. Wherever its goes, good things always seem to follow. I made this mix on two CDJs and a mixer and it features some of my very loved tracks that span the timeline and dimensions of House.»
