«Originally rooted in black & queer spaces,
house music has historically been a sanctuary for the oppressed.
We honor this history through our own exploration of artists, labels, remixes, samples, etc
all of which has led to house & techno as our love language.
We tend to have an affinity for groovy bass lines and unique tones & textures that get your body movin.
This mix is yet another example of our 10 year long adventure into electronic music together;
showing love to prolific artists who have produced for decades (and continue releasing music),
to innovative artists who evolve these sounds, and a nod to Philadelphia creators.»

«safe house (noun):
a place where one may engage in secret activities or take refuge.
The selections in this mix include original classics from the 90s
and beyond alongside thoughtful reworks and new music from artists
that I feel continue to vanguard the house music ethos of unity, respect, and freedom of expression,
through the lens of my own personal experiences in the New York queer club scene.
I recorded this mix in one continuous take with lots of extended blends
that move through the vocal, deep, acid, soulful and electro subgenres.
I also wanted this mix to feel like an unapologetically queer dance floor experience
because both the history of the genre and my own relationship to dance music
are inextricably intertwined with the LGBTQ community and with the idea of the club as a refuge.

«This mix was recorded live at Hole in Siroco Club in december 2022.
It tries to capture the classic sound of US house music,
with some touches from the other side of the atlantic.
Old and new cuts mix toghether, all time favourite producers from Chicago, New York and Detroit
are well represented here along with some less known producers and tracks.
The idea is to try to get to the core of house, where queer, black and latino influences
merge to create a sense of freedom in the dancefloor.
Beyond the nu skool and the old skool there is the real school,
and there is where this mix aims to get.
