«Es un gran honor para mí que me hayan pedido que haga el podcast número 100 de La Casa de los Otros. ¡Llevo escuchándolo desde el #2 de Paurro y el #6 de Boyyyish! Intenté hacer una mezcla muy personal, con el tema del lanzamiento de Posthuman «It’s A House Thing» de 2015. Incluye música de muchos de mis amigues y compañeres de sello – Lauren Flax, Alinka, Elisa Bee, Paranoid London, Black Girl / White Girl, Hard Ton y más. Para mí, la música house -en particular el acid house- es una parte fundamental del trabajo de mi vida. Llevo 18 años dirigiendo I Love Acid, y las personas que participan en él se han convertido en mi familia. Creo que es importante utilizar cualquier influencia o poder que tengas para mejorar la escena para los demás, para ser el tipo de persona que TÚ necesitabas cuando estabas empezando. Es fácil hablar mucho en Internet (¡todo el mundo lo hace!), pero lo que cuenta son las acciones que uno lleva a cabo, y yo preferiría que me conocieran no tanto por mis tonterías en las redes sociales, sino por la música que pincho, la gente que contrato como DJ en mis fiestas y los artistas que edito en mi sello discográfico.»

«I’m deeply honoured to be asked to do the House of Others 100th podcast. I’ve been listening since #2 Paurro and #6 Boyyyish! I tried to make this a really personal mix, themed around the Posthuman release “It’s A House Thing” from 2015. It features music by many of my friends and labelmates – Lauren Flax, Alinka, Elisa Bee, Paranoid London, Black Girl / White Girl, Hard Ton and more. For me, house music – particularly acid house – is a central part of my life’s work. I’ve been running I Love Acid for 18 years now, and the people involved in it have become family. I think it’s important to use any influence or power you have to make the scene better for others – to be the kind of person YOU needed when you were starting out. It’s easy to talk big online (everybody does!) but it’s the actions you take that count, and I’d prefer to be known not so much for my silly social media noise – but for the music I play, the people I book to DJ at my parties, and the artists I release on my record label.»

En esos momentos de desorientación, la música House me ha dado la esperanza necesaria para continuar. Un pilar fiel como la amistad, lleno de Amor, como una vez nos enseñaron. No son tiempos maravillosos, la verdad. House of Others ha sido el proyecto que me ha mantenido vivo y con ganas de seguir creando comunidad alrededor de la música House. Y ahora vivo en Berlín.

Ya sea techno que corta el aire con hi-hats feroces, acid house que casi puedes ver salir de los altavoces o un himno vocal con una rotura de batería más larga que su versión radiofónica, NYC siempre ha sido el lugar donde los discos con ese chisporroteo tribal dominan la pista de baile.
Mi mezcla es una selección de temas que ponen de relieve cómo los distintos géneros del house pueden unirnos como tribu, aunque a primera vista no suenen a la música tribal house tradicional. Espero que añada un poco de picante a tu semana y mucha alegría a tus fines de semana.»

«The percussion always rises to the top in New York. Whether it’s techno slicing through the air with fierce hi-hats, acid house rim shots that you can almost see coming out of the speakers, or a vocal anthem with a drum break longer than its radio version, NYC has always been where records with that tribal sizzle rule the dance floor.
