House music has such a rich and diverse history growing from other genres before it and influencing other types of music which have followed. Some of my favourites include the Soulful and Jazzy house music with some Garage, Tech House and Disco influences, leading on to more melodic Techno and clubby pumpers. House music for me is very positive and uplifting and radiates love and joy-perfect to lift your mood.»

«Más que un sonido o un estilo en particular, en este mix quise mostrar lo que me interesa tanto de armar sets como de bailarlos: hacer un viaje por cruces de estilos y épocas buscando la mayor coherencia posible, ya sea por algún elemento, un mood o incluso letra. Por supuesto que hay mucho de lo que se conoce como house, pero también quise incluir cosas de los orígenes (como disco, italo disco y proto house), además de momentos más trippy y un par de producciones propias que edité este año y que están inspiradas en esto mismo.»

«More than a particular sound or style, in this mix I wanted to show what I’m interested in when putting together sets and dancing to them: to make a journey through different styles and eras looking for the greatest possible coherence, either by some element, a mood or even lyrics. «I was beyond excited to put together a mix that is focused on house music and its incredibly rich history. Some of my earliest memories of house music are from playing GTA: San Andreas and listening to the SF-UR station, which put me on to artists like Marshall Jefferson, A Guy Called Gerald, and 808 State, so it was very important to me to include some of my all-time favorite tracks from that era. The mix also includes tons of new finds and favorites as well, from the New York-based artists that inspire me in the clubs every weekend to artists from all over the world. «There is so much going on in the world right now. I am finding it difficult to focus on self promotion. I initially wanted to create something truly hard and cuntie for this project. However, after evaluating my feelings in this current state of the world, how I relate in this industry, as an artist; as far as my sound, and staying true to that. I leaned into what made me feel my best in this very moment and to be my complete “FRESCA” – self. This slang term I get from my family. I incorporate it to a particular feeling and dance where one hand is behind my head and one hand is on my hip. This is what I love to do when I am completely at ease, feeling joy in the moment, and completely my utmost self while experiencing this thing we love and respect called HOUSE MUSIC; because as we all know, it is a feeling, right? — …Ya hear me girl! 

I can only speak for myself when I say, I am feeling a greater shift at this time in our lives. I am confident that I am not alone in that. If this mix makes anyone have the experience where they lose themselves in time or surrender to their total, inhibited self for just one moment, then I have done my job. I can only try to continue to spread happiness, and find commonality with others through our shared interests; in order to relate and support one another. I am originally from the Bronx, NY. This mix is my complete Nuyorican soul and self, some of my upbringing, but truly my heartbeat, what makes me tick; past, present and future. This is what I love to play, by the architects and the builders in training. I am grateful to contribute to this platform, as Madrid is my other city that I hold so near and dear to my heart.
