«De repente sola en la casa me veo “sacando unos pasos” al escuchar house, como si el cuerpo se moviera sólo. Después, en la pista de baile veo a mis amistades en la misma; uno haciendo un movimiento diferente con la cabeza, otra concentrada en los pies, otra expresándose con los brazos y manos, otre con los ojitos cerrados sintiendo las melodías, otros besándose en la esquina. Para mí es un sentimiento musical profundo y sensual, que te invita a bailar sin vergüenza, sabiendo que estás en comunidad celebrando la vida a pesar de lo difícil que puede ser.
Esta mezcla define el House para mí porque es una compilación de mis temas favoritos; los siento muy profundamente, no me cansan nunca, me dan ganas de bailar siempre y me dan alegría. Además, son creaciones de productores que admiro muchísimo.»

«Suddenly, alone in the house, I see myself “taking a few steps” while listening to house music, as if my body was moving by itself. Later, on the dance floor I see my friends on the same dance floor; one making a different movement with his head, another concentrating on his feet, another expressing himself with his arms and hands, another with his eyes closed feeling the melodies, others kissing in the corner. «El house es una música que me acompaña y me hace bailar desde muy chico, cómo olvidar la primera vez que escuché French Kiss en una fiesta de un colegio de monjas a los 12 años, junto con Eurodance, Italo y clásicos Disco y Hi-NRG.
Luego un poco más grande siempre fue la música que aportaba sensualidad a las fiestas donde contrastaba con el techno, trance y drum n’ bass de la época.

«El house fue una de mis primeras llaves a la búsqueda de mi propia identidad como una persona no binaria. La pista de baile fue donde pude encontrarme y liberarme, es un espacio demasiado sagrado para mí, donde puedes encontrarte con personas maravillosas unidas por lo mismo, la música.
Nos abrimos, nos entendemos y la música es nuestro conductor hacia grandes epifanías que suceden en la pista de baile.
Este set es una evidencia de ésto y del viaje musical que me gusta crear, pasando por diferentes géneros musicales para generar momentos de introspección y euforia en las personas.
Pueden encontrar clásicos, percusiones, house, bubbling, disco, afro y siempre con sonoridades latinas, que fueron los pilares musicales de mi infancia queer, habiendo sido nacide y criade en la Patagonia Chilena, en Punta Arenas.»

«House was one of my first keys to the search for my own identity as a non-binary person. The dance floor was where I was able to find myself and free myself, it is a space too sacred for me, where you can meet wonderful people united by the same thing, music.
We open up, we understand each other and the music is our conductor towards great epiphanies that happen on the dance floor.
This set is an evidence of this and of the musical journey I like to create, going through different musical genres to generate moments of introspection and euphoria in people.
You can find classics, percussions, house, bubbling, disco, afro and always with Latin sounds, which were the musical pillars of my queer childhood, having been born and raised in the Chilean Patagonia, in Punta Arenas.»

«Muy frecuentemente la poderosa influencia de les migrantes latines en la creación y desarrollo de la música house es tristemente olvidada.
La selección de este set son retazos de lo que es, quizás, mi propia identidad híbrida: un migrante, latino y queer que vive en Berlín hace 12 años. Es quizás un scrapbook de experiencias y sentimientos transatlánticos.
En esta ciudad tuve el privilegio de conocer y aprender a experimentar la música house como una forma de arte que no está exenta de la espiritualidad humana. Y lo más importante: entender que para las personas queer, la mayoría de las veces una fiesta y un set son experiencias políticas.
Si una forma de arte creada por y para personas queer puede ser lo que sucede en las interminables horas de una pista de baile, crea espacios de encuentro y nos permite experimentar en la realidad utopías y futuros posibles, es sin duda un arte revolucionario. Y en la revolución, creo firmemente que todes querremos bailar.»

«Too often the powerful influence of Latin migrants in the creation and development of house music is sadly forgotten.
The selections in this set are snippets of what is, perhaps, my own hybrid identity: a migrant, latin and queer living in Berlin for 12 years. It is perhaps a scrapbook of transatlantic experiences and feelings.
In this city I had the privilege of knowing and learning to experience house music as an art form that is not exempt from human spirituality. And most importantly: to understand that for queer people, most of the time a party and a set are political experiences.
If an art form created by and for queer people can be what happens in the endless hours of a dance floor, creates spaces of encounter and allows us to experience in reality utopias and possible futures, it is undoubtedly a revolutionary art. « Estoy muy contento de ser invitado a este podcast.
Me encanta poder compartir una pincelada de todo lo que significa la música house para mi a través de este mix y que coincide mucho con la idea del podcast House Of Others. Es difícil agregar más a todo lo que se ha dicho sobre el house en esta misma plataforma, así que sólo hablaré un poco de la música que seleccioné esta vez. Suenan muchos clásicos (para mi al menos) mucha música de hace 30 años o más, pero también bastantes tracks del año pasado. Me gustan los contrastes que se dan en la música house y que conviven en una pista de baile. Puede ser música divertida, juguetona y pop. Pero también experimental, acid y jacking. Puede ser sofisticada y sensual , pero también cruda y callejera. Robótica, pero también funky y llena de referencias a la música disco .Y algo de eso quería rescatar en mi mix. Ese sentimiento underground y latino. Como siempre ha sido el house para mi. Espero que lo disfruten!!🙂»

«Más que un sonido o un estilo en particular, en este mix quise mostrar lo que me interesa tanto de armar sets como de bailarlos: hacer un viaje por cruces de estilos y épocas buscando la mayor coherencia posible, ya sea por algún elemento, un mood o incluso letra. Por supuesto que hay mucho de lo que se conoce como house, pero también quise incluir cosas de los orígenes (como disco, italo disco y proto house), además de momentos más trippy y un par de producciones propias que edité este año y que están inspiradas en esto mismo.»

«More than a particular sound or style, in this mix I wanted to show what I’m interested in when putting together sets and dancing to them: to make a journey through different styles and eras looking for the greatest possible coherence, either by some element, a mood or even lyrics. Of course there is a lot of what is known as house, but I also wanted to include things from the origins (like disco, italo disco and proto house), as well as more trippy moments and a couple of my own productions that I released this year and that are inspired by this same thing.»
