Others to the Front empezó a esbozarse en enero de 2021. Tuvimos una primera aparición en público en Specka, en marzo, con mascarillas, sentades en mesas aún y rodeades de amigues. Significó mucho, pero no el baile que esperábamos. Durante el verano se fue prendiendo la llama de algo que terminó por explotar en septiembre de 2021, con la intención de queerificar y politizar las pistas de baile de Madrid poniendo a la otredad al frente.
A lo largo de 2021 y 2022, HOLE fue la fiesta que articuló principalmente nuestra presencia en la escena madrileña. HOLE fue un espacio para la expresión de otres, tanto en la cabina, como en la pista, que tradicionalmente no han cabido en los criterios de selección tradicionales de los clubs. También durante este tiempo, celebramos eventos con colectivos afines como Xoxa NYC, Bleak.WTF de Berlin, House of (S)PUNK de Barcelona o N1GTHNO1SE de Madrid.
Desde mayo de 2022 publicamos el podcast House of Others, dedicado específicamente a la recuperación del house underground, que lleva ya veinte entregas de djs de ambos lados del atlántico. En julio hicimos nuestro primer OTHERS OPEN DECKS, los cuales han sido un laboratorio de aprendizaje y de compartir conocimiento.
En marzo de 2023 se celebró el último HOLE, y con este cierre se abre una nueva fase para Others to the Front: GL!TZ* es la nueva apuesta del colectivo en la que queremos presentar la dimensión local y comunitaria de la escena queer-rave transnacional.

BIO OTHERS TO THE FRONT
Others to the Front began to get together in January 2021. We made our first public appearance in Specka, in March, with masks on, sitting at tables and surrounded by friends. It meant a lot, but it hadn’t been the dance we had hoped for. During the summer the flame lit up, a flame of something that ended up exploding in September 2021, with the intention of queerifying and politicizing the dance floors of Madrid by putting the other to the front.
Throughout 2021 and 2022, HOLE was the party that mainly basically marked our presence in the Madrid scene. HOLE was a space for the expression of others, both in the booth and on the dancefloor, others who have not traditionally fit into the traditional club selection criteria. During this time, we also held events with like-minded collectives such as Xoxa NYC, Bleak.WTF from Berlin, House of (S)PUNK from Barcelona or N1GTHNO1SE from Madrid.
Since May 2022, we have been broadcasting the podcast House of Others, which is dedicated specifically to the recovery of underground house music and has already twenty installments of DJs from both sides of the Atlantic. In July 2022 we held our first OTHERS OPEN DECKS, which constituted a platform of learning and sharing knowledge.
In March 2023 the last HOLE was held, and with this closing a new phase opened for Others to the Front: GL!TZ* is the collective’s new challenge in which we want to present the local and communitarian dimension of the transnational queer-rave scene.
