El House juega un papel fundamental en mi vida, al igual que en la de muchas personas queer y migrantes. Junto con los afrodescendientes, los latinos han fusionado raíces para crear el estilo musical que nos hace bailar hacen décadas. Mis primeras raves, yá a los 26 años, me hicieron sentir parte de una escena artística única. Como estudiante y profesor de historia del arte, me di cuenta de que era parte de una expresión artística que aún no se enseñaba en la universidad. Desde entonces, el House y el baile han sido mi mayor fascinación artística.
Para este mix, seleccioné vinilos y tracks recientes producidos por personas que comparten experiencias de vida similares a las mías. Seguro que muchos los compré mientras estaba bien colocado de marihuana. ¡Parece que yo y la hierba tenemos un bello gusto musical en común! Entonces ahí están 39 tracks que me hacen tripear :)»

House music plays a fundamental role in my life, as it does for many queer and migrant folks. Alongside Afro-descendants, Latinos have blended roots to create the musical style that has been making us dance for decades. My first raves, at the age of 26, made me feel part of a unique artistic scene. As a student and teacher of art history, I realized I was part of an artistic expression not yet taught in university. Since then, House music and dance have been my greatest artistic fascination. For this mix, I’ve selected vinyl records and recent tracks produced by people who share similar life experiences to mine. I’m sure many of them I bought while being nicely high on marijuana. It seems like me and weed have a nice musical taste in common! So, here are 39 tracks that make me trip 🙂 »
