Ya sea techno que corta el aire con hi-hats feroces, acid house que casi puedes ver salir de los altavoces o un himno vocal con una rotura de batería más larga que su versión radiofónica, NYC siempre ha sido el lugar donde los discos con ese chisporroteo tribal dominan la pista de baile.
Mi mezcla es una selección de temas que ponen de relieve cómo los distintos géneros del house pueden unirnos como tribu, aunque a primera vista no suenen a la música tribal house tradicional. Espero que añada un poco de picante a tu semana y mucha alegría a tus fines de semana.»

«The percussion always rises to the top in New York. Whether it’s techno slicing through the air with fierce hi-hats, acid house rim shots that you can almost see coming out of the speakers, or a vocal anthem with a drum break longer than its radio version, NYC has always been where records with that tribal sizzle rule the dance floor.

«La música ha sido parte de mi vida desde que era pequeña, y siempre ha hecho que todo sea mejor, pero mi mundo cambió por completo cuando conocí el House. La música House me dio un sentimiento de libertad y empoderamiento que no había sentido antes, y me inspiré en eso para hacer este mix. Quise combinar diferentes estilos y diferentes eras del House en un solo mix, así también quise incluir diferentes elementos como el acid, un catchy bassline y vocales que no pueden faltar. Mi mayor inspiración viene de artistas queers y de minorías que han luchado contra el sistema y han hecho una diferencia en esta escena. Para mí, el House es amor, lucha, unidad y cambio, y este mix va dedicado a todas aquellas personas que comparten esta misma pasión <3»

«Music has been a part of my life since I was little, and it has always made everything better, but my world changed completely when I met House. House music gave me a feeling of freedom and empowerment that I hadn’t felt before, and I was inspired by that to make this mix. La música House me habla histórica y culturalmente; tiene profundas raíces en una época en la que la sociedad se estaba transformando, reflejando un deseo de individualidad y un sentido de comunidad que buscaba la curación a través de la música. La música House encarna el espíritu, el amor y la unión. Esta mezcla define el House para mí porque he seleccionado temas que me inspiraron cuando estaba aprendiendo a mezclar. Me envolvió con su aceptación, sus bellas vibraciones y su energía de amor al alma. Para mí, la música House es corazón, y por eso me gusta más el Deep House: tiene una cadencia más profunda, con un ritmo que parece orgánico y tribal. ««Cuando pienso en el significado de «hogar», lo imagino como mi santuario, un espacio lleno de afecto, compasión, aceptación y cuidado. Es el lugar que acoge mi cuerpo y mi esencia tal como son, permitiéndome expandirme y crecer creativamente, sin límites. Es donde puedo expresar las muchas voces que hay dentro de mí, cada una de las cuales suena diferente según mi estado de ánimo.
Cuando pienso en «música», la veo como una herramienta de exploración personal que comparto con el resto del mundo. Es fluida, dinámica, liberadora y fortalecedora. A través de ella, reconozco los tonos de las realidades que me rodean, así como los que me definen. La música siempre está evolucionando, me ayuda a comprender mis orígenes y procesos de transformación. Me permite crear experiencias compartidas que conmueven a la gente y refuerzan los lazos que me rodean.

Si bien espero que la mezcla sea capaz de valerse por sí misma y contar su propia historia, te adelanto, a ti – el oyente – que en una nota más personal, dentro de esta mezcla existen pistas con las que he luchado para averiguar cómo mezclar, así como pistas con las que he gritado y llorado, algunas en pistas de baile y otras en privado.
