En esta ciudad tuve el privilegio de conocer y aprender a experimentar la música house como una forma de arte que no está exenta de la espiritualidad humana. Y lo más importante: entender que para las personas queer, la mayoría de las veces una fiesta y un set son experiencias políticas.
Si una forma de arte creada por y para personas queer puede ser lo que sucede en las interminables horas de una pista de baile, crea espacios de encuentro y nos permite experimentar en la realidad utopías y futuros posibles, es sin duda un arte revolucionario. Y en la revolución, creo firmemente que todes querremos bailar.»
«Too often the powerful influence of Latin migrants in the creation and development of house music is sadly forgotten.
The selections in this set are snippets of what is, perhaps, my own hybrid identity: a migrant, latin and queer living in Berlin for 12 years. It is perhaps a scrapbook of transatlantic experiences and feelings.
In this city I had the privilege of knowing and learning to experience house music as an art form that is not exempt from human spirituality. And most importantly: to understand that for queer people, most of the time a party and a set are political experiences.
If an art form created by and for queer people can be what happens in the endless hours of a dance floor, creates spaces of encounter and allows us to experience in reality utopias and possible futures, it is undoubtedly a revolutionary art.
